Last week, Camptocamp had the pleasure of hosting the latest installment of the GeoBeer event series. With glasses raised and pizzas shared, the Swiss geo-information community gathered to exchange knowledge and inspiration in a relaxed atmosphere.

GeoBeer events aim to bring together Swiss professionals from various geospatial fields to network and learn from one another. Yesterday’s event was notable for being held in two locations simultaneously—a first for GeoBeer—allowing even more enthusiasts to join the conversation. The Camptocamp headquarters in Bussigny and the Stadtwächter brewery in Aarau were buzzing with lively discussions and the clinking of beer glasses.

For those new to GeoBeer, the event is a quarterly meetup for those passionate about geography, GIS, cartography, and the latest in tech. It’s a space where professionals across the spectrum—from students to industry veterans—come together, united by their common “geo” prefix. The beauty of GeoBeer is in its inclusivity, welcoming ideas and opinions across languages and disciplines, and sparking dialogues that are as diverse as Switzerland itself.

The night featured engaging 5-minute lightning talks by experts such as Natalie Meystre & Elio Pittera, whose talks were not only enlightening but also served as perfect conversation starters. These quick presentations focus on sharing ideas and experiences that resonate with the geo-community.

GeoBeer was created with the founding belief that networking should be inclusive and that everyone adds value. If you're a part of the Swiss GIS community and haven't experienced GeoBeer yet, let this be your invitation. After all, there’s no better place to connect with fellow GIS enthusiasts and discuss the geospatial dilemmas that spark our collective curiosity. Find out more here.

A hearty thank you to the GeoBeer Switzerland team for their excellent organization and to everyone who joined us!
